stuffed

This year we had Thanksgiving at our house with my parents. My grandma was supposed to come down but she refused (she just had surgery and said the traveling would be too hard on her). Ryan started the day off by playing in the annual Turkey Bowl. We are glad he came home without injury this year. He even braved the shopping crowds to buy a new snowboard and snow gear (his boss bought everybody a pass to Sundance, the lucky duck.)

It was actually a really easy, non-stressful Thanksgiving splitting the dishes between my mom and I. The food was delicious and the leftovers still taste amazing.

We had four pies to split between the 7 of us. AWESOME. And I found the best pumpkin pie recipe. Ever.

We watched some football and tried to take naps and later went to visit Ryan's family. It was a great relaxing day.

The next day the weather was so nice we went for a walk on the golf course. I can't believe it is almost December!
Last week we got solar panels on our house. I've been waiting to write about it because the installers had this cool camera that did time-lapse photography of the install but I can't get the video to upload. It was pretty cool. Mady asks Ryan what they are and he tells her they are to save the penguins. Then she laughs at him and tells him he is crazy.

Other things we did this week:

-played lots of games with friends
-tried to avoid Black Friday
-watched Hot Rod. Laughed so hard I cried.
-watched Seventeen Miracles with Ryan's family. And cried the whole way through.
-went bowling with the Salmon family
-set up our Christmas tree (Mady couldn't wait!)

I'm not going to lie that the kids have been pretty grumpy and awful the last little while. They are so tired and maybe a little sick. Like on Friday when Mady said, "I'm tired" at 4:00 and went and got in bed and fell asleep. That never happens. It has made this supposedly relaxing holiday weekend a little more stressful and anger-filled then I would have liked. Still, we managed to cram some fun in.
