Quilts and more quilts

I had so so so many projects in the works that I have really been focusing on finishing them up the last few months.

My "easiest" project that I have been wanting to do was a coffee filter lantern over Mia's crib. It was so easy, just time consuming to hot glue all those suckers on. I love how it turned out. And so does Mia, as she falls asleep.

The biggest projects: 3 quilts. As a quilting beginner, I'm happy with how they turned out and anxious to start my next projects because I know that much more about how to do it.

Quilt #1: For Mady's bedroom. I really wanted to make each of my kids a quilt for their bedrooms, something special that they can always have. I found this adorable fabric and loved it. I was pretty picky because I wanted something that she would love when she was older, so not a juvenile print and colors that wouldn't go out of style. I felt like this line of fabric fit the bill perfectly. I found the pattern on Moda Bake Shop, so it was free! It is a little big for her Ikea bed so I am on the hunt for a taller twin bed...

I had it custom quilted with flowers
She's pretty excited about it...

Quilt #2: Last summer I signed up for a block-of-the month club with my mom and mother-in-law at the quilting store I now work for. It is so much fun! Every month you are given blocks to do and then by the end of the year you have an entire quilt that showcases all the things you learned. Definitely a keepsake, as I probably put more than 100 hours into this one. I love the Vintage theme of this one!

Back of the quilt

I love block-of-the months because they make quilting manageable. Side note: The store I work for is starting an online block-of-the month club at the beginning of the year so you won't have to live close by to do it! If you are interested, let me know and I will keep you updated on when it is starting. The quilt we are doing is adorable.

Quilt #3: Austin's room. I found a quilt on Etsy that I loved and so my mom and I jumped right in. Since we didn't have a pattern we just winged it and I really loved how it turned out. Instead of having it quilted I opted to just sew the front and back together as a duvet cover. He's a boy and probably doesn't want the complexities of sheets and all that junk as he gets older :) This project took a long time to finish but I'm so glad we did it!

Back

I finished these just in time to start all my Christmas projects....

Those quilts are stunning, well done! I particularly adore the one of for Mady. Which fabric did you use? Sigh, I really need to get back into quilting...

Your quilts turned out great! I finally got into quilting a few years ago and I love it! Piking out the fabric is my favorite part. I'd love more info on your shops block of the month club!
